Choosing dice for every D&D class
Updated October 27, 2026

Dice don't change the math of the game, but they do change how it feels. Plenty of players keep a different set for each character, chosen to match the class, backstory or mood. Here's a starting point for each class, with the color we'd pick from our own range.
Sorcerer
Sorcerers carry magic in their blood, often wild and hard to control. Bold colors that shift between two shades suit them well. Our pick is Bloodmoon, crimson fading to violet with electric blue numbers.
Warlock
A warlock's power comes from a pact with something that is always watching. Smoky, dark dice with a red eye fit the mood. Our pick is Bloodshot.
Wizard
Wizards study. Think spellbooks, candlelight and starry robes. Purples and golds feel right. Our pick is Amethyst, lilac resin with gold numbers.
Barbarian
Barbarians want something loud and direct. Solid reds and strong contrast work, nothing too subtle. Our pick is Ember.
Rogue
Rogues rely on poison, shadows and quick exits. Greens and yellows with a sharp edge suit them. Our pick is Venom, with a yellow eye and acid green numbers.
Druid and ranger
Both classes live close to nature. Forest greens and teals are the natural choice. Our pick for both is Emerald.
Cleric and paladin
Divine classes suit warm golds and clean, bright numbers, like sunlight through a temple window. Our pick is Gilded.
Bard
Bards perform, so their dice can too. Iridescent colors that change as they move are a good fit. Our pick is Tidewater, ocean blue with an eye that shifts color in the light.
Fighter, monk and artificer
These classes are easier to match to the character than to the class itself. A disciplined monk might suit gold, a scrappy fighter red, an inventive artificer blue. Go with the character's story.
Does dice color affect your rolls?
No. Color is purely for fun. If you're curious whether liquid core dice roll fairly, read are liquid core dice balanced?
